"...When I start putting on the first layer of paint, I never have a preconception of what the painting is going to be like. I work spontaneously without any theme, sketch, or plan and every painting is a new adventure. The use of acrylic paint and different techniques brings about a complex texture.
Sometimes my starting point is a color, sometimes it is a shape, and from there, I am drawn onwards, creating and covering, layer over layer. Sometimes there are many paintings underneath the final outcome. You don't always see them, but they shine through somehow. Often, it is one of the previous versions that was already covered, that finds its way to the surface and leade me to the final result.
I can create a world of objects and breathe life into them, but eventually the viewers are the ones who keep them alive in their own mind."
